Before viewing

  • Check your budget
  • Confirm the car is still available
  • Ask about MOT, service history and keys
  • Arrange enough time for a proper viewing

Exterior checks

  • Look for dents, scratches and mismatched paint
  • Check lights and glass
  • Look for signs of poor repairs
  • Check panel gaps and tyre condition

Interior checks

  • Check seat wear, controls and warning lights
  • Test air conditioning, windows and infotainment
  • Look for damp smells or water ingress
  • Check boot space and spare wheel or repair kit

Under the bonnet
